Sri Chakra MahaMeru Temple

Tripura Sundari means the “Supreme Beauty” or “the Most Beautiful Queen of the Three Worlds.” It emphasizes her unparalleled beauty and her exalted status across all realms.

The temple is situated in Yercaud Taluka, Salem District, Nagalur, in a picturesque location akin to Ambikai Prasantha Bhavanam.

She sits with her right leg folded, facing the east of the temple, and extends her blessings to the devotees.

A distinctive feature of this temple is that the sanctum sanctorum’s tower is designed in the shape of Maha Meru, and the temple is surrounded by a lotus pond and a well, adding to its special appeal.
In this temple, Amman is depicted with four arms and is worshipped along with Sankadahara Ganapathi, who is believed to remove obstacles, and Bala Subramaniyaswamy, who is beautifully adorned.

On the temple’s exterior, there is the South-facing deity Dakshinamurthy, and the temple’s location amidst natural beauty is an added charm. Special poojas are conducted every month on Pournami (full moon) and on specific days, including the grand chariot procession. Each year, during the Puratasi month, the Sharada Navaratri festival begins with the hoisting of the flag, followed by daily Abhishekam (sacred bath) and Kolam (display of figurines) worship. The Ayudha Puja (weapon worship) and Vijayadasami feature the Navachandi Yagam (sacred ritual).

In the Panguni month, on the day of Anusham star, the temple celebrates its 14th anniversary with special rituals, including Laksharchana and Navachandi Homam. Additionally, 24 Maha Chandi Homams have been conducted with great reverence to date.

The temple’s tower is designed in the shape of Maha Meru and is a focal point for devotees’ prayers and wishes, including those for overcoming marriage obstacles and securing child blessings. For those who are unaware of their ancestral deity, visiting this temple and its tower will reveal the divine presence of Lalitha Tripura Sundari Amman. There is no doubt that her grace will be bestowed upon all.

Many devotees who come here with their requests later return to perform special rituals and offerings, such as the Kolusu (anklet) and Mookuthi (nose ring) Abhishekam (sacred bath) and prayers for their wishes. We encourage everyone to visit this temple, make their wishes, and seek all the blessings for a prosperous life by praying to the goddess.
